Exclusive interview with MashUp master rrremix - Lady Madonna - Express yourself this way

Introducing rrremix

(Roel Regelink) who is a DJ, Music Mixer & MashUp Master.

Although rrremix is not new out there in cyberspace, Utopia Au just recently discovered the amazing mashups by rrremix.

The particular #mashup we love is  a combination of Lady Gaga's - Born this way vs Madonna's - Express yourself. We search the internet looking for talent and came across this mash up by Roel and decided to search the internet to contact him to have a chat.

After first viewing the mash up on You Tube on some other persons account, This led us to finding Roel, on his facebook page. We messaged rrrmix and he was happy to talk to us.

Hi Utopia au! Finally we met! Thank you once again for your compliments. It makes me turn red. Nice that you want to give me a lil attention. Mixing and edting music is for me just a hobby. It's difficult to earn money with it because the copyrights of the music I'm using. Actually it isn't even my goal. It's all for the love of music. I'm a freelance audio/video technician.
I started with editing music in my younger years. By that time I was using cassette players, turntables and tape recorders. Nowadays it's just a computer.

What program do you use for mashups?

Nowadays I'm using Ableton for audio Adobe Premiere for video. In the past I was using simple multi track programs.

Roel was first caught by music when his parents gave him his first record player for his sixth birthday. A mixer and a cassette deck followed fast and the hobby started to get more serious.
Back in the summer of 1985 he made his first public appearance, playing at disco party’s at his parents bar. He achieved to make his first mix by using a cassette recorder and record player.

In 1988, he made his first year mix. Roel was by that time active as a radio-dj at radio stations in Holland and he was still dj-ing with his Drive-In Discotheque.

In the early 90′s he started making electronic dance music with his friend Thijs Adrichem. A few songs were released on different labels. After this he wanted to spend more time with dj-ing and started in 1996, along with two friends,
a discotheque in Uithoorn called Baboon. He would be long active as dj at this place. After a new owner and new name, discotheque The One, he was resident dj till the end of 2008.

From 2002 till 2007, the Mega mixer was making year mixes with the musical highlights of that year. Those mixes were played by local and regional radio stations in The Netherlands.
Beside dj-ing in the clubs, he spends time making mash-ups as rrremix.
